I did love this answer though. Which also didn't have much to do with the question asked. Maybe Davey was just doing his own press conference

he said the abuse Doucoure received was "completely wrong"
what more do you want him to say?
He was never an exciting appointment, but is he the right man for now?? Can he progress us and does he understand the club and its fan base??I must say, as much as I personally prefer we get a new manager in the summer, I am delighted for the fans who are buzzing right now after so much misery....in particular if yours is a common sentiment amongst the match goers to Goodison. It's great to read honestly
I'm mostly surprised people still don't have him on ignore, mostly.
Forgive me, I've referenced the Saka incidents already, and that's what, 20 odd months ago? It's no excuse or a starter pistol for more of the same, but have you seen what's happened since? The social media companies and their owners have doubled down on enabling the racists, fascists, and wannabe murderers. This is a problem way bigger than the sport of football or the industry around it, we've seen today the very sad passing of the CA area on this very board because of legal obligations and requirements. The internet has descended into the lawless wild west, and the people happiest in this frontier are those getting paid for this human debasement.I couldn't agree more.
In which case every interview should make mention of it. "It happens all the time" isn't a reason to ignore it; quite the opposite.
Look how much taking the knee stirred the gammons up. There should be constant pressure from inside the game, on the police, the PL and social media (and the gammons themselves obvs) to ID and ban/prosecute perpetrators.

I think the answer to all of that is yes, people have every right to feel maybe he could have handled his departure better but it’s a long time gone.
I’d like to think we have vastly experienced manager who knows what we want, I welcome some stability and hope for progress.
I can’t see Moyes wanting to do another decade here but you can guarantee he’ll leave us in a better position when his contract ends. I’ve said before if he gets an extension because we’re doing well then that’s great.Yep. Long term not the answer, but he's absolutely several cuts above this notion of him just simply being a temporary firefighter who's come in to do a job for a few months. Not that I suspect he'd have ever agreed to that, anyway.
At the moment I'm more than fine with him leading us into next season. It doesn't mean though I'm happy my club finds itself in this position in the context of the last 15-20 years.
We all want progress, we all want to compete at the top but the fact we didn’t wasn’t down to Moyes in my opinion in his previous time here. We have been mismanaged from the very top for decades what is needed is a cohesive club all pulling in the same direction, run properly with a complete culture change. That has to start with the new owners and filter through the club.Yep. He is a football manager, in a pre match football press conference.
Now people are wanting him to speak out about all the racial problems we have in this country. Come on people, not sure how many times it needs to be said, he is a football manager in a pre match football press conference.
The situation is being dealt with, I really don't see it as David Moyes's job to be speaking about it. Who knows, Doucoure may have asked him personally not to speak about it as he is dealing with it or he does not want to be dragged publicly into it. Some people are just not as vocal and don't feel comfortable being the centre of these things.
He obviously condemns racist abuse but sometimes there is a place and time and person to speak fully on these subjects. Maybe, just maybe, those with an obvious agenda against him should stop to think about this and really evaluate what they are asking Moyes to be doing here.
Let him talk about the football as, just in case you did not know, he is a football manager in a pre match football press conference.
Yeah, his ability to improve players, his tactical know how and his experience. I was gutted when he left last time but I understood why.Moyes is not the same manager that left all those years ago … he just looks much more calm and experienced … definitely the right appointment
