"Tarkowski is no ball playing CB" except against Leicester, especially when he played that excellent through ball for Beto...
All professional footballers at PL level should be able to play a cross field pass which goes the distance. It was a poor pass by Tarks for the second. And the first, the player had gone very wide and he should have dived to block the shot rather than diving in on the man.

It’s a poor performance which is greatly overshadowed by his usual performances.

It was getting more height on the pitch. Don’t know how big sharif is but I expect Moyes was banking on set pieces by that point
Yeah , I get that , but the game was beyond us by that point . Personal preference but I would have preferred to give Sharif some game time .

Also, the more we have the ball, the more mistakes we make, the more goals we concede.

Dyche knew this basic fact and built it into his game plan.

The problem is that Moyes hasn’t worked out how bad we are.
I agree with this bit. I think people suggesting that tarkowski just happened to have a really bad game are missing the point that a large part of his struggles were down to us playing out from the back against a side who were very good at pressing and forcing him into errors. The more of the ball we have and the more intricate we try to be with it the more you see how limited some of them are.

Off topic I know, will take the yellow card for the team but a serious question. I have had Davek on ignore from my early membership so haven't had to endure his wisdom, however is there a way to block responses to his comments without blocking those that respond to him? A question to those that respond to him, why endure it, why to do you torture yourselves so? We have had enough to make ourselves depressed in recent years why put yourselves through it.
Perhaps because his often belligerent and endemically contrarian positions he assumes on certain topics invites debate and tests unquestioned assumptions.
He can be infuriating ( and sometimes overly repetitive) but he is never boring.
It would be dreary forum indeed if we all thought the same .

Agree with Dave on this. We should never have appointed David Moyes as our new manager.

Dyche had a game plan? Im not sure no shots at the oppositions goal and hoping for a 0-0 could be classed as a plan. PE teacher stuff.
The last time i looked we are still a football club. The objective to get on the ball and score.
Possession stats are being massively over rated currently. Its what you do with it. There's games just recently where Everton have had more and less possession. We've lost and won games within that bracket. What you need is a bit of quality. Betos finish and Garners pass last week, although some have already destroyed that as it was against weak leicester. Me personally i thought it was a bit of quality play.
I mean we are not blessed with it but id still rather attempt to have a go. I wouldnt be knocking Moyes for that.
Bournemouth have dispatched and dismantled far better sides than Everton lately. At the moment id class them in the top 2 or 3 sides you dont want to play.
We've got work to do. But considering a few weeks ago we couldnt even get a shot away at the opposition goal and were circling right above that drop zone i'll take where we are.

Oh we all will in the end if that’s the case.
Nobody other then the most delusional and cringeworthy of bedwetters will be upset if Moyes sees out his contract. He's nobody's first choice but most of the fanbase can see that he's what we need for the immediate future to stady the ship. So I'll say it again, dry your eyes. Cos Moyes is going nowhere.

Gone in May / June, IMO.

He's started to undermine this team with his comments about low quality and leaving Everton in a good position when he left / deserted his post last time around.

Players and owners aren't going to put up with that for long.

No one brought onto his team of coaches who had to be bought out from a contract with another club + no transfer budget handed him in January screams out short term appointment to me.

I think his ego his telling him he can do better with the same bunch of players.

Fortunately the 3 wins he got for us with them have handed us a cushion that'll keep us up.

Yeah i agree. I get the experience thing with Keane. As I said, it it was a basement battle with a lot riding on it then I’d probably make the same call. I just think it’s a bit of a free hit 2-0 down in the cup. Give him a chance.

Not having a pop at Moyes by the way. He’s made a very good start and performances are better.
