I remember some in the day would bemoan Moyes with the glass ceiling of 5th place on a sell to buy budget after the owner pocketed some profit.

Over half a billion spent after Moyes left and the new glass ceiling seems to be 15th. And that way for many a year.

It'll be interesting if Moyes manages to raise the standard. How long will it be before we forgot our 4 year relegation battle.

Like say we finished top 11 or in around next season. It would be our highest finish for many a season. And then we finished in around the same again the season after that.

Would that warrant a new contract?

I'd say absolutely.
Straight out of the Kenwright playbook .
‘Euphoric Eleventh ‘ ?
‘Terrific Tenth’ ?

Unfortunately, because we have been so poor, with very little possession each game, I think some have focussed more on what we do without the ball than with it and Doucoure is a poster boy for that. It’s a case of Dycheolitis.

Thats exactly what it is. Even teams like Brentford see hard running off the ball as standard fare in a player with ability and technique as a recruitment requirement. We see hard running off the ball as the latter.
When Beto started his first game for Everton and the ball bounced off his shin 3 times in the first 25 minutes i just thought yep. Thats an Everton signing.

It’s just ridiculous that some people think that this group of players could get 48 points in the premier league despite being undercoached.

It is seriously seriously overrating their ability. This lot can barely pass a ball yet people think Dyche just did very little and the attacking talents of McNeil Harrison Doucoure and Calvert Lewin waltzed their way to 48 points themselves?
!
Dyche set us up defensively well. Team moving like crabs left to right depending on where the ball was. That's it. It ground out some ugly results but they were never encouraged to play expansive passing patterns and that is where the under coaching is linked to the 'barely pass a ball'

Guaranteed their passing improves over the next few months

If anyone can't see this then they either haven't been watching or do not know what they are looking at when they watch a game of footy.

You will never get a job in the Everton media operation if you cannot learn to alliterate failure:
Try ‘ Superb Seventeenth’ or ‘Stupendous Seventeenth’ , or ‘Remarkable Relegation’ for example 😀
Had forgot about this
