I don't mind Mangala I the sense he's very tidy on the ball, doesn't get flustered and definitely has a shot on him. But he's not busting a gut to get in the box, he's not busting a gut to get back either. It's all a little bit safe in safe areas. 6/10 most games I reckon and a 12-15m player. But we need players chucking in an 8/10 every 3 games of possible.
Major issue with our side is the midfield imo, it's just so static and zero chemistry in there.
Doucoure offers purely energy but at the cost of zero positioning or ability on the ball. Gueye has woeful positioning and just harries but again little ability to create anything, Mangala is as you say neat and tidy but so slow and again creates nothing. None provide any interplay or get into the box to provide options.
Garners the best of the lot and can actually pass it, and is decent getting into the box but often ends up being the sitting player due to Gueye being unreliable in that role, Tim at least provides some forward running but again was often ending up as the sitting player to accommodate Gueye going forward pressing and not getting back when we had it to allow Tim to get forward.
Overall Gueye and Doucoure are for me major issues and the sooner both leave next summer the better. Mangala I think is just meh.
Need badly to add a player who gets into the box late or a genuine energetic player who can cover ground AND is positionally aware.
Fully fit best we have I'd say is Garner and Tim with Lindstrom ahead of them
Need a starting right back, need a centre mid, need a right winger, need a striker, need a left back as
Mykolenko good game aside has been gash for months now.
Priority is right now a right winger and a starting centre mid imo followed by a right back.
