We had some of the most uninspiring seasons the since moyes left. So we are in no position to criticise them.

Don't get me wrong I'm not criticising what he is doing with West Ham, he has done a great job but at the same token as I said that could easily be a flash in the pan and therefore the people saying we should have got him are premature.
Last season was very yo-yo for a lot of teams and just because they got a good start this season doesn't mean more than they have got a decent start. As I think
@Toast pointed out as soon as Europe starts bitting in can they keep it going twice a week, cope with an injury to a key player etc. and still be classed in the end as the 5th/6th/7th best team in the land + be in for the cups.
Our own failings have nothing to do with wanting to get someone who so far bar from the odd season specialises in mediocrity. He can change that perception but it takes time.
