But maybe it isn't, either. You have to look at that too, because there is no evidence to suggest there is a pre-set fee. And Olympiacos aren't stupid they will want to make money and protect themselves too.

They will be.

Olympiakos buy him for cheaper than Anderlecht would sell to us (for whatever reason I don't know), then sell him to us cheaper either cheaper than Anderlecht would or when we've assessed him for a whole season, while still making money. A good deal for both clubs.

The fee we will have paid to his agent to do the deal, then loan fee then a permanent fee and then another fee to his agent will end up being more than it would have cost us to get him from Anderlecht anyway.

Unless there is a set fee, which there may or may not be i don't see the point.

Even if this is the case, we still now get a full year to see him in competitive action and make a judgement.

But mate doesn't it make sense that we simply wouldn't have done this deal if it wasn't for a cost we were prepared to pay? We don't know the details - but surely we can assume that if this route had cost us more than we would have paid to Anderlecht directly, we wouldn't have done it?!?

Clearly Everton have encouraged the Olympiakos move for him, so obviously the deal will be in our favour, with a small return for Olympiakos.

Strange bit of penny pinching but I guess we need to do that.

I think we're trying to be 'smart' but we never usually are.

So in the end i get the feeling it will be pointless and a waste of time and money.
