Everyone knows about the stupid crap he came out with in the 70's while coked off his face, which he since fully recanted. Everyone also knows he donated loads of money to the anti-nazi league in the 90's and his actions and remarks on the subject since show him to have been anything but a nazi sympathiser, even if he was at one point in time.

Lads I'll be honest, I don't know the ins and outs of any Nazi sympathy from David Bowie - indeed I was totally unaware of it. Obviously I don't support any sort of Nazi sympathies.
Also he worked quite a bit with Nile Rodgers who I'm sure wouldn't have worked with him if there was much truth in it. Personally I'd like more info on this before judging.
However I'm not sure that a slanging match is the most appropriate thing in an RIP thread for a person who appears to be greatly missed by a lot of people.

I actually meant that in a sincere, 'yes, this went too far' kind of way, but it obviously in hindsight doesn't look like that. Don't think I'm trying to keep it going here, just felt like I had to mention this. Moving on.
