Brilliant interview on Newsnight in 1999 with Jeremy Paxman - so interesting, particularly his comments on the impact the internet would have on lives.

Wow, he just seems to understand what art is right down to his core. On a side note I love hearing people predicting these cultural revolutions (like the effect of the internet on society) and being so passionate about them. What Bowie said in that interview reminds me of Assimov predicting the future of technology...

I'm devastated. The world seems a bit emptier now. In terms of British artists, only the Beatles can eclipse him. And in some ways, he was their better.

A likeable very good artist who I was pleased to hear in my teenage years, seeing how well he performed in Live Aid surprised me what a very good live act he was, like his music never been out to buy any in that era - Like any artist who dies yougish the acclaim is receiving now is like any great artist they tend to come out the woodwork on the TV etc -
He was an unusual artist, like artist of his time got unfortunately tagged with Glam Rock who moved on with his music not churning out the same stuff his latter years he seemed to disappear , but privately what I have heard he was a real genuine person, and no big head!
