Danny's clip got me thinking, and i often think we underestimate the acheivement and progress we have made under the ginger one, as we constantly nag and moan for better and more! No doubht we all love him but my question is this!

Where would we be without David Moyes?

I really think their was a strong chance we would have been relegatd!

I have to hold my hand up at times I doubted his ability to get us playing football with the tendency of certain players to hoof the ball but this season we played some of the best football for years.I think Kenwright should give him what ever he wants as he has earned it.(y)

There was a culture of slackness at EFC before he arrived. First game after that nobhead Smith was sacked was a revelation. I walked in the ground half an hour early and there he is on the pitch drilling the dregs that Smith brought in. Straight away you knew it was going to change for the better. Like Coyney says, he might leave a lot to be desired tactically speaking, but I'm convinced he saved us from the drop. He made us compact across the middle, quickly got rid of the [Poor language removed] that the dullard Smith brought in, got them grafting and demonstrated immediately that this Premiership is a load of old wank below the Big Three + Liverpool.

Hes a great manager - but he has a weakness - substitutions!!! he doesn't make them in time!! and he waits till like the 80th minute. And there has been times when he has made the wrong substitution....

Anyway apart from that - hes great - next man utd or celtic manager me thinks in years to come...

Hopefully as time goes he will get better with his subs and tactical changes I think its crucial he gets a good number 2. my only other concern is if Bill dose not back him in the market he might walk ,it must be frustrating for him to ear mark a target and like with Parker someone offers more cash than us and we miss out.

Its impossible to say where we would be without him but i think its a pretty good bet we would not be the club are today without him.

Numerous managers have come here and failed to take us near the heights of the mid 80's and for many years we were fighting relegation.

If we had of gone down i hate to think of the situation we would be in now, sure as hell would not involved 3 top 6 premier league finishes in 4 seasons.

Even though Moyes faced his own relegation battle with us he managed a remarkable turnaround during which he sold one of our best players. You do not go from bottom 4 to top 6 in one year and stay there (05-06 excepted because that was caused by a poor run due to Champs league knockout) without being a good manager.

I honestly never thought we would be in the position we are today when he arrived, the most i realisticly hoped for was mid table, just to move away from relegation struggles.

But he has done much much more than that, he has done a magnificant job with limited resources which is the sign of a truly great manager.

Winning the Premiership may be a step too far but at least we can do more than just dream now, we are a lot closer than i ever thought possible a few years ago.

So basically i think we would be mid table to maybe pushing on for a 7th place UEFA cup place if we done extra well one year at best and playing in the championship at worst without David Moyes.

Pretty fair assessment as for winning the prem with the vast fortunes of Man U and Chelsea I think even Arsenal and the R/s will slowly fall further behind as the costs soar the price Chelsea paid for a full back for example,But who knows if we get a rich owner Dave might have the chance to see if he has what it takes.

I dont think we have to have a big money investor in order to win it. Of course it will help but maybe Moyes strong point is having to look hard for bargains. If given free reign to buy who he wants he might just go down the Newcastle road and spunk loads of money on players just cause he can, and then fail miserable cause they are all overpaid [Poor language removed]!

They say the total of a unit is greater than the sum of its parts (or soemthing like that) so while we continue to build a team let the big 4 spend 16m on right backs who might be good players but will they add up to make a good team?

We have the foundations of a great team here, with the right additions for the right money i'd say its possible we could challenge for the title 1 day soon.

We had 6 defeats and 2 draws more than Man U this season. Think of 2 draws we should of turned into wins (Blackburn and West Ham) and games like Reading away, Newcastle Away, [Poor language removed] at home and a couple of more that we had potential to win it doesn't look that far away.

Add 2-3 quality players and a bit more depth to cope with injuries and a long season and we could just do it.

Now if Moyes could get those signings just right :)

But a couple of top quality signings would go along way to achieving it suppose and I know its never going to happen but lets say Ronaldo and Messi joined us that would put us right up there only dreaming though:lol:

Sorry mate, but that wont happen. Money might be the root of all evil, but it's also the route to winning things. A couple of decent signings each season will get us precisely where we are and treading water. I for one dont fancy that. Time for Kenwright and his crew of underachievers to go. Maybe it'll come soon.

I often worry mate, about that ceiling where he may utter the words "i have taken the club as far as i can", personally i feel a little anxious about the current contract situtation as i dont think its as straight forward as some beleive, i would be made up if it were another five year deal as i think this will take us over the line in terms, in terms of moving to the new ground (which i know you abore) but i feel Moyes thinks that is vital in the clubs development. I think its also important to comment on Davey's loyalty to the club, i would be trully shocked, if he hasnt already been offered other jobs at for fiscally empowered clubs, as the likes, of Bruce, arry and Pie man Sam have.

I cant think of anyone who has turned around a clubs fortunes more then Moyes in contempory football, his success really is for me astounding!

Without him me might be a team similar to West Brom, bouncing up and down between leagues. Moyes in a way saved the team.

He does have weaknesses though. I think with this current team he's a little too defensive and has to trust his back 4 and Howard more and let the little guys attack. His subs aren't great, but besides Murniho, who had his choise of internationals on the bench, I havent really seen a manager really good at subbing players. But these are minor quibbles.

We would be alot closer to the bottom 3 than top 4 without the Ginger God. 1 of the best managers in the league and were very lucky to have him. It will be a very dark day indeed if he ever leaves us
