Dave Whelan on SSN

It's far too early to write N'Zogbia off. For me he's a league ahead of the wing options we have available, and is one of the best wide players in the league.

Villas balance is way off at the moment. Heskey has been left wing, for instance, whilst they play one, two or three up front at various intervals. Plus, they have Alex McLeish as a manager, who is an even worse version of Moyes when it comes to attacking football.

I would say the same.

I love how Dave Whelan on SSN is the thread title. Couldn't remember what this thread was about. I don't think I've actually seen N'Zogbia in a Villa shirt since the opening game, has he been playing much at all?

Villa could be in some trouble this season. All the Villa fans at work seem to think they won't get another point until the new year, meaning they'll be on 16 points half way through. Hmm.

Nzogbia is a bit hit and miss i think most would agree, If we were marking players out of ten he would get plenty of fours and fives but also a few eights and nines compared to someone like Downing who is probably a seven every week.

Hes a bit lazy, looks a bit disinterested at times but can produce on his day but dont we have Royston Drenthe to do this ?

Only if you mean that as rhyming slang. He's been pump ever since Senile Bob called him names in the papers. £10m? Jesus.

Oh Dear God.

Glue is VERY bad.

I said he was gash and its nice to see him showing that gashness on a weekly basis.

/smug

Hahaha... Judging a player on less than three months at a new club... I'm guessing you were part of the "Rooney's lost it" and "Torres is rubbish" brigade as well.

Here's an interesting read for you, albeit from a Liverpool website.

But then, you've made your mind up regardless of what proof is presented to the contrary so it's probably wasted on you. Stick to your "international footballer for France with seven years of Premier League football under his belt is rubbish" line :)

Wouldn't make the mistake of prejudging him already but he's looked very ordinary this season. I'd be pissed if we'd spent £10m we frankly couldn't afford to on him instead of an out and out striker.

Lets be honest, Drenthe on a free if we sign him will have been excellent business compared to Zog.

Phil Neville has got more medals than Stevie G lad.

Anyway, I said he was a 1 in 12 player, he actually proves that every week.

I dont rate him, I honestly dont see the attraction, he has the talent, hes fast and he clearly has a good shot, he just suffers from Anciebeism, the talents there, but the application is sadly lacking.

The Zog catches fire after Xmas always has, to be honest you couldnt be under a worse coach then Mcleaish, Seb Larrson is a perfect example hes on fire since he left Brum. His star players are always centre halfs. Hes managed to turn Darren Bent into Heskey, while still having Heskey in the same team- no mean feat. Im surprised there hasnt been more heat on him to be honest.

Some players come alive after Xmas i dont know why, Dempsey, Etherington, Kuyt - the Zog is one of these but young enough to develop consistency.

That I can't argue with. Fair points.

I still maintain that working under Alex McLeish is hindering him badly. If he was United, for example, he'd be having much more licence to do what he does best.
