According to a friend, who for what it's worth may be completely making it up, Gibson is training with Preston.

If it happens I'm the number one ITK. If it doesn't, it will. Work that one out.

If this is true I'll drive him to Preston myself, mainly because someone will have to.

Damned shame really, there's a talented footballer in there but it seems like he's intent on wasting that talent.

Could have been good. Great turn of pace, an eye for goal, can really spot a pass
Debatable... You've got to be kidding right?... Will be a very short highlight reel... So he should, sat in the stands.

A distinctly average footballer at the absolute best, and the sooner he is out of our club and off our payroll, the better.

If it is true it will team him up with his fat friend and fellow waster pilfering us for millions McGeady, maybe they deserve each other.

The real shame of this is they are both wasted talents.

I disagree and I think negative sentiments for a number of reasons sway the opinion of Gibson's previous talent and influence in many eyes.

Don't get me wrong he's a crock, took the Michael with his drinking and fitness and should be gone, but for a period of time he was pivotal to us.

Admittedly that was way back under the reign of Moyes, yet he showed he had talent. That's what makes his demise even more galling!

He is and always was a drunk ..hence failure as a professional footballer ! Real simple lads

That short period he rose above being distinctly average was in a team that was basically very, very sound and that fully understood their own best individual and best collective attributes, all marshalled by a then very pragmatic manager.

The one and only time I truly enjoyed his presence in an Everton shirt was staying up into the late night/early hours of the morning when I was living in Khartoum listening to Internet radio and he bagged the winner against City.

Boy, did I celebrate that goal, woke everybody up in the two floors below me ;);)

There was rumours for along time that he liked a tipple or ten and the circumstances behind his drink driving charge only added to that.

However, what was more telling for me was that on his previous social media accounts he was regularly pictured with a drink in hand or close.

Now I'm not advocating that a player shouldn't be allowed to have an occasional ale, but his flaunting of it suggested that it was more than a few.

I'd hoped that Martinez would have got him inline although it failed to materialise, yet for a trained physio our overall fitness was awful anyway.

He chose to drink and piss it all away instead of concentrating on getting himself fit so in the end I have very little sympathy for him.

It's just however a shame that we couldn't utilise a player who I believed had the ability to contribute; Oh @AndyC another memory for you...
