then how could it be a better investment to give him all the money up front and tell him to go away, rather that perhaps getting a few games out of him?
because we also pay for his medical costs, yes there is insurance for that, but we have to pay for that too which people seem to forget, added to that the insurance doesn't cover paying his wages it covers paying just for his medical costs.

And he isn't worth the investment of time or money anymore because he can't stay fit or injury free.

I'm certain that insurance can be used to cover wages as well. Depends on the package deal you get.
In addition when Darren got injured while playing for the national team we got reimbursed for his wages, maybe not all but a significant portion of them.

that was one injury for ireland, he's had loads for us different ones all the time.

Sound with that. Hopefully structured so being fit and game appearances come into effect for him to receive full wage, a bit like a pay as play like i think Saha was on when he first came

What a pointless article from the Echo.

Everton are 'planning' to hold contract talks with a player who has one year on his deal. It's not even going to be done imminently, but will be done after transfer business has been concluded.

Wow. What an exclusive. Football club will hold talks with a player who has less than a year left on his contract.
