Darron Gibson

I would love to see Gibson back fit and fighting for a place. Thing is when fit he is our best passer of the ball, simple as that. Besic & McCarthy get my vote for the starting roles but a fully fit Gibson isn't a bad option at all.

in the name of good fcuk but i dont know if you're serious or not.

anyhow welcome to the forums Darron

It's been looking for a while now that Darron Gibson will never see out a season without long term injuries. There is no question that Darron is a great asset to our team when fit but we would be better offloading him and to bring somebody else in his place who Roberto can use as we have a more demanding season lying ahead. We need as many fit bodies as possible

The opening post in this thread still stands true today.

If we were rich, we could put up with him. As it stands, he's a wage drain.

Gibson has not been properly fit now in over a year and a half. There must be large question marks over his future at the highest level.

But, when fit Gibson is the best passer of the ball at the club and the best player we have to control a game and dictate the tempo of a game.
He may be a sicknote, but he is a talented sicknote.

It's been a phenominal year and a half of injuries for Darren, and it's great to see him soak in the atmosphere in the physio room. At this moment of form, he's nearly ready to be a part of the squad and enjoy his football in the 2nd half of the season once the soft tissue injury to his leg, which has dropped off, finally heals. We have pencilled him in for end of March but if he gets 2 minutes of the last game of the season we know then he's done a pre pre season and will be ahead of schedule for the 2017-18 season where his true character will be vitally important to the first ten games he will no doubt miss.
