Agreed. Yet unfortunately, if we're realistic, this isn't a very likely expectation when you look at his overall injury record.

He was wonderful in the 2012-13 season until he got injured, and arguably has shinned sporadically since, but he now appears to be a croak.

He'd need a run of games to try and dislodge the likes of Barry, McCarthy and Besic and that just isn't going to happen!

I have said this before, none of us know how Gibson has been handling his drink problem. If he was doing well and this was a slip backwards for which he has shown remorse then he should be given a chance. If he is not doing everything necessary to overcome his problem then he should be sacked.

That's a fair point. We really just have to trust those who really know the situation instead of rushing to judgment off limited facts.
