Sadly he looks every inch a £500,000 player. The Man City deflection will buy him some time but I'm not impressed.

Still he is better than Nev or Heitinga in midfield. Benched when Rodwell is fit.

still way too early to judge him yet, i still believe people underestimate what he does for the team, never going to be eyecatching or exciting to watch but every team needs a player like him as he spoils a lot of the opposition attacks, give him time to get settled properly and he will deliver.

God yes. As we saw demonstrated again today.

It is a different game completely to sitting in a midfield of Nani, Carrick, and Valencia and then Neville, Fellaini and Pienaar.

He still isn't fully fit, and is working on building a working understanding with those around him. Very few of Moyes' signings get thrown in to starting eleven from the moment the arrive. Consider that.

Some bad shooting from distance today, including one that went for a throw. Moyes will soon drill that out of him. My concern is that Rodwell will come back in alongside Fellaini and Gibson will be pushed forward. Thankfully Moyes had the opportunity today and decided to send Fellaini up instead. He's the sort of grafter that Davey likes, so I can imagine that either him or Rodwell will be tried on the right hand side at some point.

"Well it's better than Neville in midfield"

"So long as he keeps Neville out"

"At least he can pass, unlike Neville"

etc etc etc

Herp derp push Felli up and let the Nev/Gibbo, ex-United dream team shine.

... anyway I think he's all right. Well no he's extremely average but an average PL footballer who's only 24 for a small fee is good business. I don't mind the lad at all. Plus he got the winner against city, however spoony it was, and so he's at least partly ace.

Can pass, makes himself available, and doesn't panic. He is still getting fit !

Edit: I'm not going to slate or saint Jelavic after four or five games. Jesus - whatever happened to taking a calm considered view and giving a player time to settle in.

Think we all agree that Neville should not be playing in midfield. Ever again. But it's not Gibson's fault if he does.

Exactly. How quickly we all forget how many people wanted to run baines out of here because he really didn't settle in and play well until he got settled and worked the chemistry with pienaar.

Gibson looks like a very competent, solid, young, prem caliber footballer. Nothing flashy, will make mistakes, but already seems like a very good bit of business.
