As far as I'm concerned if it goes through it a case of "welcome to Everton Darren, get the shirt on and show us what you can do".

If it turns out he's crap then I'll be fuming.....but there's no point being negative unless that happens. Let's support the lad.

1) No-one is saying that. But at least get behind him.

2) Of course they are. But some people are writing him off completely before he's kicked a ball.

I hope he does well for sure , he will have something to prove ahead of the euros , just hope come the end of January its not the only deal wev done .

Very odd from the BBC feed on my MyYahoo page
Second to top headline is us rumoured to be throwing in a 2m bid

Top headline is this:
Darron Gibson scores League Cup cracker against Spurs - 7 hours ago
Everton target Darron Gibson scores for Manchester United in a League Cup tie against Tottenham at Old Trafford in December 2009.

You'd think they worked for United and wanted to help them offload players, or worked for us and wanted to sweeten the taste of what looks like a bad deal, 2mil is over the odds.
"Hey look he can score passed Spurs, none of the current 11 did that"

Well said. As the day has gone on I am beginning to feel a bit better about this one. No point getting on the lads back before he's even signed - let's give him a go once he's here.

Sounds like the deal might happen, not the most inspiring signing but i'm willing to give the lad a chance. I haven't seen too much of Gibson but from what i have seen at least he has a shot on him, something even our forwards lack. I'd also rather see Gibson center mid than Heitinga or Neville and for 2 mill hes worth a gamble. We should really be looking at signing 10+ mill players but thats were we are as a club at the moment which isn't good enough but i'm actually looking forward to seeing a new player who has something to prove rather than the same old players that we have had for the past 3 seasons.

The 2 mil thing is a big worry for me. Ok that's not a huge fee for a fairly young Irish international from the United youth setup but how much of our transfer kitty is that? If we're going to use our money to sign Drenthe permanently and bring in a couple of other players besides Gibson then I'm perfectly fine with it. Otherwise we're much weaker up front and I'd personally want us to throw any money we have at getting a forward.

You know what this signing (if it happens) reminds me of...

Hope he proves me wrong though.
