Just going to chuck my two yen in, can't be doing with Dalian Pro.

The MK Dons of the CSL. Up until the end of 2012 Dalian Shide, formerly the Shipyards, were my team.

But that doesn't do it justice, they were my life. Me, my uncle and cousin would sit over bowls of abalone, conch, sea bream and shrimp in the early hours of the morning or whatever the appropriate time difference would be for this anecdote.

My family bonds were forged by the performances and results of Eight Star Dalian, then, Aerbin group comes along and merges the mighty Shide into their rabbit's whelp of a club and lo, the Pro were born.

@Legend78 you are a dead fish eye and I or my, not at all fictional in any way, cousin or uncle will meet you in a Yonghui Superstores car park of your choice any time you want.

Living so far away from China I am hardly going to get to know first hand information about my adopted team am I just maybe you and plenty of other fans they have to rely on second hand or media information to keep up with the fav teams if you live some distance from your clubs home town or city so nothing new in that is there..

To be fair I could of blinded you with facts and figures about Dalian Pro but I have the strangest feeling you would still pick faults or use another excuse to have a go.. you sound like a person with some built up issues there my friend if you don’t mind me saying..

But anyway no worries my mate..

Well... growing up and living in Liverpool I'd imagine a lack of top level football teams in the city led him directly to the Chinese football league.
Highlights supporting Dalian Pro:
1. Arsène Wenger flying over to manage a Japanese football team in 1994
2. The 2002 World Cup squads flying over on their way to Japan and Korea
3. Investing millions only to finish tenth in the Chinese league... Dalian Pro that.

Well... growing up and living in Liverpool I'd imagine a lack of top level football teams in the city led him directly to the Chinese football league.
Highlights supporting Dalian Pro:

Yeah mostly when Benitez went there.. have always took a little interest in managers and players seeing there fortunes abroad.. even going back to Big Ron from the Swan going to Athletico and Kendall going to Spain too.. would even admit watching out for Moyes and Nevilles managerial stints abroad.. so yeah always took a vested interest.. was mostly players tho especially the early ones like Liam Brady.. Ray Wilkins and Tony Hately..

I've never declared myself a supporter of that team though. Who did you support before dalian? (As benitez only went there in what 2019?) And you have made the point that you aren't part of the "sky sports brigade", so there must have been a team before then.

Yeah took more of an overall interest in the League last few years.. probably when the likes of Scolari and Lippi started to manage over there later on Canarvaro and Jordi Cryuff but when Benitez took over Dalian Pro my awareness and interest intensified a bit more..

Nope most definately not a SKY Sports fan.. could’nt be given my age and traditional values I hold.. I think football is absolutely dreadful now if am honest compared to what it was... maybe it’s an old age thing but I really do feel upset yearning for the BIg Match Revisited days again...
Football just seemed to mean more back then and it also seems so manufactured and forced now probably driven by the likes of SKY and money ruining it..
