What hope is there of Liverpool and Everton sharing a stadium when most of their fans wouldn't share a taxi?
With Champions League flops Liverpool facing a fight to make the top four and Everton finding it even harder to make the top 14, the two Mersey clubs could be even more cash-strapped next season and some say that in five years' time they are a better bet than Tiger and his missus to be sharing a home.
If ground-sharing is good enough for Milan, the thinking goes, it should be good enough for Merseyside. But surely that misses the point, or in Everton's case, three points.
The San Siro works because AC Milan and Inter share not only the ground but also equal billing. At the San Giro, Liverpool would always be the dominant partner. Sooner or later the Mersey clubs would clash. Liverpool might demand a bigger treatment room, Everton a smaller trophy room.
And the potential for grisly practical jokes is obvious. Liverpool fans knowing Everton are at the stadium three days later might leave something unpleasant.
