Pidcock should be a legit GC rider - second in World cyclocross champs and winner of world junior TT at low 50s Kg speaks to massive, Contador levels of W/Kg.

Not short on confidence, either. Only 21 still and seems to be making his own way, which might be a good thing rather than getting subsumed by the Ineos sausage machine.
Three Brit "espoirs" riding in the current Tour du Limousin.
Connar Swift and Sam Brand both with pro-continental teams and Jake Stewart who's with Groupama-FDJ.
Jake got 2nd today in a bunch sprint and sits in 2nd place on GC,@5sec.

Ineos have signed 1 of the Yates brothers!

I don't really understand that signing to be honest. Since he got 4th in the Tour, he's not really done anything in GC terms, so it's hard to imagine he's being signed as a GC contender, and he doesn't seem like the kind of rider that would fit into a mountain train as a superdomestique, so where does he fit?

Ok, nerds, is a CAAD13 too aggressive for a first road bike? I have a friend who sells bikes and he confirms this is a nice bike/setup, although he prefers something tamer for me (specifically a Domane AL 5 disc, or a Specialized gravel bike), especially a wider softer wheel/tire than the 26s on the Cannondale. Then again the Trek is not available until August and I can get the CAAD13 today it seems, and nobody, especially Yanks like me, like waiting 8 months for anything.

It's a great bike IMO - but you just need to ride it to see how the geometry feels, would this be possible? Not round the car park, either - a proper ride.

It's not got a crazy aggressive geometry or anything but it is a race bike, certainly there are more relaxed designs out there that would have you sitting up more. But it's 100% down to you and your body - road bike fit is really important as you don't shift position much so it has to be spot on.

Be aware though that you can go down the rabbit hole researching the perfect fitting road bike - if it's your first one then you have no personal frame of reference, so something to be said for just taking the plunge with something good like the CAAD13 and getting the show on the road.

this store has both54 and 56 in that model so I’m confident one would fit. I ride 56 in trek and probably prefer a more upright ride. Then again I’ve been riding a hybrid. I really don’t want to dive down the rabbit hole, I justwant a solid bike I can ride for years.

*and this is about $800 to $1k more than some others I’m looking at, but those can’t be purchased

more on point to what you said, I dont know that I’ll have a good frame of reference until I’m 5 or 10 rides in. I suspect if I buy it and don’t like it then I’ll order a better fit this spring and try to sell it used. But i haven’t bought it yet and willing to listen to good advice.

Just re-read what I wrote and fixed my typo, not that it matters.

The Nice area is on red alert. Would seem something of a miracle if all three weeks of the race get completed.

Must admit I’m a non cyclist but look forward every year to the three Grand Tours , so I hope this goes ahead. Bought my Cycling Weekly TdF special , I tend to record every day on Eurosport and start watching late afternoon, fast - forwarding through the boring bits to usually catching the finish live. I know . Purist I ain’t!

Hopefully the team bubbles work, no reason to cancel if they do. I just don't understand why they've been letting fans watch from the roadside in the lead up to this. They need a good battering from the Gendarmerie.
