Two minutes is nothing when he has an off day. Saying that it's unlikely, but one can only hope.

off day? lollollol

Moto Froome only needs to flick a switch (or pretend to talk into his ear piece) and he'll soon feel great.

This Vuelta has been a farce, the state of Froome today crossing the line smiling and not out of breath after that performance! Other riders looked like they were dying. Even the UCI must be feeling a little bit embarrassed now.

That's insane. Not just one car either. Utterly bonkers. Re today's stage, good to see some life in the race yet. Froome's a funny one, as in his breakthrough Vuelta he did well on the Angliru, coming 2nd behind Cobo despite pacing Wiggins for much of it, but these days he seems to really struggle on the steep stuff. It's like he can't cope when his cadence is forced to be a bit more within the normal range by the gradient. It must have given Nibali real confidence ahead of the Angliru.

and..... right on cue.... The Dawg feigns weakness the day after his ridiculous performance in the TT that should have got everyone suspicious. Fits the narrative perfectly...

Guess what? back to Moto Froome today

come on Bruce... his cadence? Froome's cadence is just not human.

In this Vuelta Froome was calculated pulling 6.67w/kg for 11 mins in a climb. Absolutely impossible for a clean rider, he's in the Armstrong, Pantani, Ulrich, Bjarnie Riise and Contador 2009 territory there!

Not bad for a complete donkey of a rider pre Sky

If memory serves me, those riders did that kind of power for a whole climb, not ten minutes. Big difference. I'm sure the clinic has comparable times up Alpe D'Huez.

hmmm, his ventoux performance was pretty similar.

Anyway only another couple of years of the Froome farce... then Sky will unleash the MOSCON!!! Amazing what a 6 week ban for racism can do. Them marginal gains really are brilliant. Turning a sprinter into a mountain goat.

Bert laughs at a mere 6.67.

At the amateur level, the Northwest cyclocross season starts tomorrow - exciting stuff! My favourite discipline - very friendly and down to earth scene, as well, so it's easy to just go along and try. Mountain bikes are permitted, and in the early season will ride fine on the courses, although saying that forecast is for torrential rain all weekend.

There's an Everton cyclocross on the calender, so I would guess means either Everton or Stanley park.

Looks like it'll be wet and windy up the Angliru. Given the gradients logic suggests that'll favour someone that can ride it in the saddle, which would seem to favour Froome, yet he rarely rides well in the wet. Should be interesting either way.
