Cycling thread

Chris froome blocked me on twitter when I dared to suggest his inhuman attack on contador on ventoux had all the hallmarks of a motor.

F anyone wants to watch it it's hilarious.. He just spins his legs faster and drops contador in a flash, it's almost comical.

Personally I think sky use motors especially froome
Really? I mean both sound hilarious. Why would he bother blocking you and the motor thing?

She's OK - tragic Piers Morgan connections aside. She hasn't written a single article about cycling that I've ever seen - you think Hyde chipping in with the 97th piece on isn't Shane Sutton sexist eh? counts as an article about cycling? She has no discernible interest, passion, or knowledge of cycling and is just phoning in some drivel on the personalities involved because it's in the news and that's her job.
Not bothered about her connections or if she has any passion for cycling. I'd look elsewhere for that. As I say dont agree with all she says. We can't choose who writes about our sports or what they write, thankfully.
Article about Shane Sutton sexist bullying behaviour? Yea I take your point it's not about powering up the hill leaving yours lungs behind endeavour. But yea, it's about cycling alright.

Vuelta starts on Saturday. It's been a cracking race in the past few years, and has a really strong lineup mixed with some intense mountain top finishes and a decent amount of time trialling. Froome is an obvious favourite, but with the climbing involved I'll be looking to see if Bardet can climb away from the best or not.

Bardet was playing GC down, I think he will try but if fails he might go for stages.

Looking forward to it, I love the Vuelta.

Me too. Can't say I've ever warned to Spain as a cycling destination, and bar a few (Angliru etc.) there aren't that many 'famous' climbs, but the racing in the past few years has always been great, and it usually attracts a strong field, with those from the Giro typically joined by those from the Tour who either weren't happy with their performance or who crashed out. Usually has a great lineup that are prepared to throw caution to the wind a bit. That and the organisers usually provide a selective course (which the Tour often isn't) and it's been a cracking race lately. It's not the Giro (obviously), but it's my 2nd favourite GT these days.

The steep climbs always cause carnage. Plus nibbles and Bertie will explode the race at some point.

Can't be arsed with another 3 weeks of those cowards like Bardet and uran using froome having a mechanical as a reason not to attack.

Got a think Bertie will explode this race before he packs in.

Haven't seen the Team TT parcour, I hope it's to the liking of Sky since I'm not interested in another whinge marathon like in 2015.

Flat as a pancake. Thankfully not on a beach though (I think).

Another nice thing about the Vuelta is you get a shakeup pretty early. The Giro can often save all its action until the last week, and the first week of the Tour is usually about not crashing, but the Vuelta has this on stage 3, which should cause a selection very early on.

Got a Nibali attack written all over it that descent

Grown to like it a lot more in recent years. Feels like a proper race rather than something choreographed, and can be absolutely brutal. Would love to see a good showing from Nib & Bertie.
