Not really the point. You want to be confident that when you're cycling some lunatic won't use his 1,800kg machine as a weapon.

Here we go. It's become common for there to be fireworks on the 1st mountain stage to thin out the contenders. Sure both Movistar and Sky will want to give it some.

Didn't watch it because I suspected it would be a boring one (well that and I simply couldn't watch it); seems that I was correct. Today the main goal for most was to not lose time.

Ah I am glad that I haven't missed anything. They should have put a TT a bit sooner if they wanted war between the favourites.

The next uphill finish is stage 9, but tbh I think there won't be any serious attacks (further then 2-3 KM from the top).

Was a head wind up the climb I believe so that may have dampened any attacks. Jungels in pink is deserved after his efforts in the cross winds.
