I have given up on politicians TBH they are all the same imo.

Pogacar is in a league of his own, best of all time.
Great ride by Ben Healy to get the bronze, been a brilliant year for him
What a joke again.
Its time there's an Investigation
Vingegaard has beaten him twice, but, like you said, nutrition and technology have come a long way since 2023.I can give you the results from that...he's just better than anyone else.
He has insane lactate clearance.
He has insane pain tolerance
His lactate clearance allows his FTP to be leagues above anyone else.
His VO2 max is actually lower than Jonas. But the fact he clears lactate and his body actually turns it into fuel means he can be heavier and more muscular.
It means when he puts the foot down (Jonas can match him for a bit) he can keep it going for much longer. Only MVDP can match.
Now Jonas actually put muscle and weight on this year to try and solve that part of the Pog equation, and it worked. But what he can't fix is matching him over 15 mins and NOT 1 minute.
I just had a look on Bet365.Lombardia tomorrow - as the last classic in the season you used to get a lot of unpredictability. Most riders tired after a long season, some coming back after missing periods with injury and wanting to do well. Not any more - the race belongs to Pog more than any other. Cannot really lose head to head, but maybe something untoward will happen. Like he stops for a pint midway out of boredom.
MvdP announced he will ride a similar cross schedule to last year, which is good news. Unfortunately he has no rivals nowadays, so it's hard to appreciate just what a ridiculous level he rides at. He laid down some of the hardest technical riding ever seen last year, any discipline, but it was like watching an off-road time trial rather than a race.
Nobody can stay with a pog attack on a climb. It was a bit sad today tbh when he went and it showed Remcos head just drop.I just had a look on Bet365.
You can get 4/1 on any one of the other 174 riders to beat him. Which is just absurd.
Incidentally I was tempted by Onley each way at 250/1. Is he not capable of conceivably staying with a Pog attack on a climb for a while before cracking?
I don't think he could win but basically 50/1 for top 3 seemed quite generous on a course with a lot of climbing.
