im not sure wether it was a good job the car was there or not for the major crash. christ he was going at warp speed. where would he have eneded up otherwise?

Nibali thrown out of the Vuelta for being a silly sod. God only knows how they thought they'd get away with that. Did they not hear the TV camera over head?

I'd love to say I'm surprised that Astana resort to such things, but I'm not in the slightest.

Tiralongo a tough bugger though. Not sure how much longer he'll keep going.

Vuelta is absolutely enthralling this year.....right down to the wire

Certainly is a fascinating battle. None of the 'big names' have been on form and the classic battle between climber and tester has been very good. I haven't managed to see much of it, but the reports do sound great. I can see Aru getting the win, but you never know.

Shall watch today. Astana will pummel doumilin today.

Went to the tour of Britain on Monday, watching pro cyclists cruise up the nick o pendle was soul destroying

Weird one today as it's not particularly hard but there is a tough little climb they end on.... It's non categorised but that might be all Aru needs for 3 seconds

Doumilin looked like he was holding off Aru with ease yesterday. I think the only way he loses this now is if Aru takes bonus seconds on the line in one of the stages left.

I must say, Doumilin's arrival as a grand tour potential winner is a surprise though. Suspicious even.

None of the Tour riders have performed at their normal level though, so if you take Froome, Quintana and Valverde (and obviously Nibali) out of the equation for leadership then it becomes a slightly more accessible race. Purito for instance is a talented rider, but if everyone was on form you wouldn't expect him to be near the front of a GT these days.

More than suspicious.... But I'm a cynic who doesn't believe you can win a grand tour without being on the juice. (Purito for example)
