Don't see the debate at all. If you come off your bike and hit your head then there are high chances of serious damage.

I remember when Pozzovivo crashed in the Giro this year, truly horrible. Thought it would be a repeat of Wouter Weylandt. Sadly in that kind of incident, even a helmet won't protect you.

Vuelta a Espana in a few weeks (which is Tour of Spain in Spanish @Elong

Who do you think will take a resit? You would imagine Aru would be in, maybe Nibali. Contador is definitely out, but Quintana has hinted he might ride, and it's Valverde's home race so he might line up too. Brailsford has said the Vuelta is perfect prep for the Tour, so Froome may turn-out, especially as there's a reasonable amount of time trialling on offer.

Froome has confirmed he'll be riding the Vuelta. With Quintana and Nibali also signed up for it, and TJvG, Aru and Landa also likely to ride it could be a cracker. Bit more time trialling in this race so it could favour Froome.

his time trialling skills don't seem to be what they were since 2012, the effects of a training regime dedicated to tough climbs? or as much as they were not mates, maybe training with wiggins helped him that regard?

That seems to be the impression, although in the 2013 Tour he outclimbed everyone on Ventoux and out time trialled everyone to St Martins Mount, so I don't know. His testing does seem to have gotten worse though, although I'm not entirely sure why.
