I suppose he could be in some regards, but a con man seems an unfair accusation. He clearly has a great understanding of the natural world and presents his take on it. Obviously his narrative has shifted over the years to put greater emphasis on climate than purely looking at animals and their habitat, i dont usually frequent this site so am not sure of different posters angles, you obviously dispute Attenborough's take but do you dispute 'climate emergency' entirely?

So he has no authority to do so, despite having a degree in natural science from Cambridge and being an amateur naturalist (during boyhood) and a professional one for the 70+ Years of the rest of his life?

lets keep it to Attenborough for the moment.

he`s had more of a platform than anyone yet has only recently championed the environment as something worth preserving. - coinciding with the push by the mainstream media/Governments etc.

he is apparently "excellent" in his field and is much travelled and informed yet he failed to report on the Pacific garbage patch that has been growing for over 50yrs

His programmes inform, educate and entertain to different degrees depending on the wants and needs of the viewer. Whether you want to learn about climate change, have an intimate look into the natural world or get the best out of a 70" 4k telly his programmes are unrivalled. I look at everything with an air of distrust and assume everyone has an agenda but i think what he offers is worthwhile. Is his position manipulated by dark money and political agendas, most probably.
