And it makes me think of these ‘private vs public sector’ arguments, as if the private sector is the area which generates wealth for everyone, makes things, and produces stuff of value to everyone, whereas the public sector does that useless stuff like putting out fires and saving lives.

In a similar vein, and I'm possibly in the wrong thread here, but some of the arguments about the unions all clamouring for more now Labour have given a couple rises ignores corporate lobbying. Most definitely. A lot of those accounts are also people who now have a reputation/following to keep engaged. They need content and discord to stay relevant, so the need to create controversy and keep people angry at things.
