Quite horrifying; I would suggest that the fact that the 32yr old perp was living at home with his parents as probably indicative of a broader mental health issue.

[edit: I'm not implying that all 32yr olds who live at home have mental health issues, but usually there is an association between living at home as an adult and broader social/mental issues]
