I'm not sure it'll really take hold here though. Despite our Monarchic Head of State also being the Head of the State Church, the UK itself is largely irreligious. I don't necessarily mean there's a massive lack of belief, but faith doesn't tend to define us or our lives as much as it seems to do in the US. I couldn't tell you if any of the people I work with, in fact in the entire building, have religious beliefs or go to church on a Sunday etc. Some may well do, but they don't talk about it at all.
And can you imagine the sort of cuddly C of E biddies that make jam tarts for fêtes and go on Songs of Praise protesting outside clinics etc?
Looking at the rhetoric is the wrong way to look at it; that the money is coming in should be what concerns everyone. Much of the anti-abortion messaging over there was only ever about getting political hooks into people, that is why the concern for life that was so powerfully and repeatedly cited seems to end the moment a child is born and they are surrendered into capitalism.
It might not fund the spread of anti-abortion beliefs but it will (and probably has done for years) fund a lot of the far right activity we see now. That lot are awash with money, with dozens of people paid large sums just to work on their version of politics and it is long past time that we started to find out where it is coming from.
