And him being the richest/2nd richest man in the world.

Comes across as a bit weird at times, sure. But if you look at his achievements he is a genius.

If we're rating genius by how much money he has, then Trump is a genius. Trump is a barely functional idiot. Musk is a great salesman and salesmanship gets you far in the US. But listening to him speak and reading his words would indicate, to most reasonable folk, that he is a manchild with no emotional intelligence and very little knowledge of the things he chooses to talk about. He has bought companies. Buying things isn't an indicator of genius

You seem to be conflating genius with “do I like/agree with this person”.

Like Trump or not (there’s a hell of a lot of criticisms to make of him), he’s also a genius. He dipped his toe into politics and became president.

He ruined everything when he didn’t concede after losing in 2020, but I’m no expert on him/US politics so I’ll leave that there.

Musk invested 6.5million in Tesla and now it’s worth billions. He helped make electric cars cool and in demand. Surely that worth something to you?

Buying things isn’t necessarily an indicator of genius, but if those things become enormous and in demand and insanely popular and cool then that can show genius.

Yes he seems a bit weird sometimes, but geniuses often come across that way. They don’t think/act like the normies do.
