I bloody knew it was a grift all along, missus calls me a cynical git but I knew it!

I called it from day one.

I got hit with the “there’s a pandemic going on it’s nice to have a bit of positivity”.

This country lost the absolute plot during lockdown, particularly with captain Tom.

The daughter reminds me of Janice out the sopranos.

I remember reading an article at the time lightly mocking Britain's response to covid. The author contrasted Germany to the UK and made a joke about how puzzled Germans were that we had to ask a 100yr old to walk around his garden to raise money for the NHS, partly due to funds being redirected to the private sector for profit.

Well, isn't it fitting that the same thing happened with Captain Tom?

The Thursday clap. Kin morons. All the grifters jumped on that. The ones in Government particularly.

Got told I was 'failing' our NHS heroes by one idiot up the road for not clapping. Uh huh.

I don't agree. While many of us were safely ordered to stay home, my wife and tens of thousands of others worked non-stop in the face of an unknown, killer virus. Whilst clapping is a bit tokenistic it did make them feel appreciated.

Maye, it was utter wallop exploited by the likes of Hancock and at the first sniff of having to reward folk like your wife with actual pay rises and improvements in working conditions, the scrotes wriggled like hell.

For that reason, I was out.

Both can be true, good causes and heart felt gestures can still be such and exploited by scumbag tories.

There’s was a massive conga outside A&E in the hospital i used to live opposite.
Air horns, fireworks, beating pans... it escalated weekly like some competition by me.

I found out later one neighbour regularly pitched up at A&E drunk as a skunk and has been prosecuted for attacking hospital staff.

WE LUUURRRRVE YOOOOOOO *clap clap clap*. Uh huh, how about learning not to abuse this amazing social service we are so lucky to have (and it's staff)?

Bah, its got me started now.

Back on point, whatever the rights and wrongs of the weekly clap, it was definitely something grifty types in power latched onto.

I had Neighbours who tried to outdo each other a few weeks. Think me and the wife went outside for the first week but I gave up after that.
I'm probably being really harsh. Everyone was going a bit stir fry crazy and it probably offered a bit of light relief and connection to others. But deary me, did Boris et al milk it.

Remember the badges?
