I don’t really use social media apart from Instagram and even then it’s more of a business profile than anything else. However, all I see on my search feed is Joe Rogan videos, insane conspiracy stuff and fishing/golf videos.

I can't get rid of the golf videos either.

It is concerning no matter what content you consume, that the algorithms on all of these platforms seems to coincidentally show a lot of this dangerous alt-right propaganda. It’s no surprise that the amount of people who are being radicalised into alt right philosophies and conspiracies is rising

It seems like you watch one Joe Rogan clip then you get a massive barrage of alt right and mad conspiracy stuff. I watch and like more left wing content for sure, and my social group only post left wing content but only see the odd clip. Maybe there is just a tonne more right wing nonsense on the internet.

See I watch a lot of Hasanabi, who’s a leftist news streamer, and I assume because he reacts to so much right wing content to confront it that I get smashed with right wing content now.

I think it may be the case that there’s just loads, especially as some of it (Tate’s scheme for example) is getting linked to pyramid schemes

Social media algorithms are so aggressive. I'm really careful what I click on or pause to watch these days, for fear of being bombarded with trash.

I use the "don't show me this type of content" buttons a lot now. To be fair, it has cleared the Rogans and Shapiros out of my feed but sometimes I will click on something that I have a passing interest in and I pay the price. For example, I once clicked on a Muse reaction video (no idea why, I hate reaction videos), and my feed was full of Yanks reacting to Muse for weeks afterwards
