He's not even a right back never mind a left back. He's up against a player today - it's obvious we need a left back.

No excuses but we all know he's limited as a defender. Why complain he's all we have.

Remember defending his purchase as back up right back to fight with Kenny until Seamus was back. Never in my life did I think he’d be starting left back for more than a game. Koeman ballsed up majorly by not buying an actual left back or maybe naming Garbutt in the squad. Fat headed, mayo eating meff

Gana was rubbish in that instance but if Martina stays on his feet nothing happens. He's a disgrace of a footballer, worst I've ever seen for Everton (and yes, I remember Mitch Ward, Brett Angell, Alex Nyarko etc.. - he's worse than all of them)

He shouldn’t even be here. He should never have been signed but typical Everton let’s go for the cheap option rather than going out and signing decent full backs we pick one up that Southampton were happy to release at 27 years old

Having said that it was hardly textbook defending.

EDIT: Just seen it again at half time, that’s just a shocking attempt at a challenge. Gueye got completely bypassed though, no way it’s solely Martina’s fault.

Gana was poor, no doubt, but it should have been snuffed out at source. I reckon that was 70/30 in Martina's favour. A decent defender would have nicked the ball away when it was mis-controlled and danger over.

I don’t like to blame players. This fella isn’t EPL standard & should never have been signed for Everton.

£6M a year for a lazy [Poor language removed] who fckd off on holiday & left it to others. Started a season with just one fit experienced fullback (3 years past his best), aging centre backs & no striker.

We just need to survive until January & trust Allardyce to recruit the right players.
