I know this isn't the transfer thread but what else is solid. Last one I read was we were going for Lucas release clause but it looks like Arsenal may swoop in... Although that is according to express and the daily mail
 

Bizarre that people are slating Martina? I have never heard of the lad, and yes he was back up at Saints, but so was Stek and he has done a job for us. i had never heard of Gana, and he has done a job for us? I think we have to realise that modern transfers are like musical chairs! I personally think we will get Kone from Sunderland, but Moyes would get crucified of he sold him without first nailing on a replacement, so we have to wait until they have sorted it out, then once they have what they want, we get what we want!

I have absolutely no doubt that the vast bulk of business for almost every prem club will be finalised on deadline day! With regards to knockbacks, if a club like the RS dont have sway with foreign targets anymore, we have no chance!
 
coleman hasnt had competition for his place for a good while, this signing could give him a bit of a boost.

that being said i would like to see the youngsters gettign a chance but whilst holgate, browning and connolly all seem pretty solid defensively i doubt any of them can be flying wing backs
 

Ah well, could have been worse.

He could have signed a new contract with Southampton.

He could have wanted European football.

He could have simply turned us down.

At least we're back to the old "failed a medical" routine.

hes southamptons 3rd choice right back, its their 1st choice getting an injury which will hopefully scupper the deal
