Bit opaque tbf. Bear with me please.

So are you saying those who argue against operate at the macro level (I.e. govt) or that the arguments are around the relative benefits and effects at macro and micro economic level?

Cheers for the patience.
those who argue against it (i.e. the average man on the street) own a logic that operates at the micro level, because thats about all they can see with regards bitcoin - 'gambling', 'casino' 'not a currency'. this is bolstered by action by entities at a macro level (governments etc) who actually understand the issues only too well and to mitigate it feed stories which are micro in nature via the press

I will say this - on a thread entitled cryptocurrency, its fair to assume most people wouldnt be too surprised if I was referring to a group or community related to that.

Apart from you of course, who find it grossly offensive and wildly inappropriate.
Do I? Where have I either stated or at least alluded to either? Feel free to quote away because I must have missed that part.

In fact, I have a fair few friends and acquaintances who are advocates of crypto: we talk about it openly and one even produced a layman's guide for us.

He even offers advice in terms of investment, which is all done in a supportive, non-judgemental way. He knows the market but is also open to honest debate.

I've dabbled a bit but I am far from an expert; I also have my reservations about the potential of the market alongside the scope for tax evasion and criminality.

My point being, I have no real issue with crpyo and I am open to fair and objective discussion. Are you? Like others, I have the sense that...

I have no reason to explain why on a thread dedicated to crypto, you might find someone referring to the community.

You are a troll, and a bad one.

Why do governments hate it so?

child trafficking is micro in terms of bitcoin, as its an obvious scare story.
My sense, being no expert on this, is any finance system has loopholes and crims will find a way to funnel money or fund their nefarious activities. Front businesses for laundering being one well known approach. I suspect its not beyond the realms of possibility bitcoin / crypto can be misused. But overstated.

theres no central bank to print unlimited supplies of cash to fund anarchy,
bitcoin is truest form of hard money ever invented!
Well, why would you need a bank to fund anarchy? Its self governance and if, happy to, small scale forms of collectivism.

If you undermine govt, the state, and financial systems you are free, no?

Bit like digital fight club. No fights or bombs though.

I feel sorry for the micro people though. They need govt. They can't think without them. What do they do?
