With all the talk about AJ leaving the club, do you think we should have a look at Peter Crouch, as much as i despise the red [Poor language removed] and do not want there rejects i think he would improve our squad. Good in the air, a bit of pace and can find the net.

Would he suit us? Would he come here given that he is a red [Poor language removed] player and what do you think?

OMG!!! No!!!!!

He's god awful, and I can't wait till he gets out of the Liverpool side so he won't be picked for England anymore.

Good in the air? Are you sure? He's got a head shaped like a hexagon, he's not that quick either.

Sorry mate, I feel really strongly about this. :)

I made a post about this a while ago.

Now I know, I know. Its Peter Crouch 'ffs', even though I despised him with a passion, even prior Liverpool for no rational reason.

But hes not bad at finding the net, model professional and offers something different. Why that fat Spainish fool doesn't play him i'll never know. Him and Torres upfront all last season would have certainly have bumped their Prem tally right up.

For £10m, would you like him here? *awaits abuse* I dont want him going to Portsmouth, him and Defoe would score plenty.

£10m is a bit too much i'd say, £8m ish wouldn't be too bad.

Maybe another way to look at it, in 'Football Manager' world, if we could offload AJ for £10m ish an get Crouch in, would you see this as an improvement?

My only concern would be our temptation to hoof the ball.

Pompey just got shot down by the [Poor language removed] with a 9M bid for Crouch (what they paid for Defoe). The [Poor language removed] will find someone stupid enough to bid 12-15M for him (West Ham, NUFC) so they are going to hold firm.

Not sure if he's any good or not. He deserves to start over Kuyt and at times looks very good and at others bleeech! I guess I wouldn't mind having him for what Pompey offered for the guy, but not for more than that. I think I'd rather keep AJ over him though.

I dont agree with some of the previous posts, I believe he is a brilliant striker. He scores fantastic goals, his height can be put to good use and hes actually quite excellent on the ball as well.

However, I dont think he'd suit Everton well, something just tells me that him and the Yak wouldnt quite click together.

Agreed. Although Crouch and someone of Johnsons mould (which is why I am not surprised Redknapp wants him with Defoe at Portsmouth) would be lethal.

I disagree, the most overrated player in the Premiership.

Overrated yes Ghost, obviously, he plays for 'them'.

Heskey being the classic example.

But still, a good effective player.

You have to admit, he isn't half a handful for defenders.

I'm sorry I don't. Nothing to do with him playing for Liverpool, well not completely, but I have never rated him - always seen him as clumsy, he gives away far too many free-kicks.

Those saying he's crap are either biased or don't know what they're talking about. He's scored goals regularly for every team he's been in, including England. Arsenal are reported to be sniffing around him - do you seriously think Wenger would be interested if he's as overrated as you suggest ?

That said, there's no way he's coming to Everton. We've already got our perfect target man in Yakubu, our system would struggle to accommodate two big target men in the same team, and it would make no sense to pay over £10m for someone who may not even start for us.

I don't like him, end of.

A definite no from me, not that i think he is crap well not wholley, but we spent a long time, adfjusting to a style of play that wasnt route one, i personally wouldnt like to regress back to that.
