Yeah definitely deserves his spot, but how do you leave Bairstow out If he's back too full fitness..
Just take bairstow as a batter only and throw him in top of the order. Foakes then takes the gloves. Leave Crawley at home.
Foakes is handy as a lower middle order steady batsman as well. Crawley is young enough to get dropped and told to work on his game and come back into the set up. Having a weak opener screws the whole team.

This will surely be his last chance. I’m guessing he'll get 2 tests to look vaguely competent. If he doesn’t, move Bairstow to opener and bring Foakes back at 7.
Bizarre selection to leave out Foakes and persist with Crawley. I reckon Foakes would score more as an opener than Crawley, nevermind the fact he is the best keeper and a very good lower order player.
Yeah Crawley is shocking, honestly don't understand how he still keeps being called up. The lads had long enough now too prove himself and all he has proven is he just ain't up to the task.
Rob Key is Crawley's mentor, he's mates with his dad, and they come from the same county

It’s not great, 7 scores out of 19 in single figures. Openers need a rock solid technique, but to me, he always looks like he could be out at any time, and I think the opposition must sense that, especially the Aussies.
He's absolutely crap, is the long and short of it
Very lucky boy to be in test squad. I don't rate him at all.
