I do not like the short bowling at the tail every single time. It doesn't work.
35 off it, a test record.Broad has lost the plot here. 24 off 3 legal deliveries
What's worse is that Stokes and co. were laughing as they went in. I get the style is changing - creative; I get that England are trying to be more aggressive. That's the worst over I've ever seen in test cricket. Broad surely should have realised after 2 or 3 balls that he needed to bowl at the stumps.

But that was just dreadful... diabolical. You've got a new ball against tail-enders, so why not play your best game (e.g. best bowling) and get the batters out?
If it's good enough for their best batters, the tail enders are going to not enjoy it. Keep it simple.

I gave a predictable tut after a heavy huff. Let's be clear, there's going to be some ups and downs with this new leadership as it's more aggressive and ad-hoc.I wasn't laughing, I was shouting at the telly![]()
It's basic stuff, pitch it up to tail enders. They always get out edging to slip or the keeper. I don't care who is in charge, and I've been very impressed with the run chases against New Zealand, but that is cricket 101. Broad is a hugely experienced bowler and should know better. He's now in the record books for the wrong reasons, as the bloke who bowled the worst over in the history of test cricket, which dates back 150 years or so. I hope he's still laughing when he realises that!I gave a predictable tut after a heavy huff. We'll ruin some teams while in others we'll be scuttled or make shambolic decisions that let the opposition run away with it. It'll definitely be more exciting.
But ultimately, the best feeling is winning a test and yesterday morning I felt it was a good possibility, yet now we've helped their cause by a fair, fair bit.
Lees is gone. Would anyone be surprised if we crumble now?
Three of the top four most-expensive overs in test match history are now all English. It's basic stuff, pitch it up to tail enders. They always get out edging to slip or the keeper. if that doesnt indicate ego....Three of the top four most-expensive overs in test match history are now all English.
We get on the backs of football managers who can't adapt to fit the situation. White ball tactics in the red ball game will not work once teams figure you out.Seems like they don't have a plan B, they're going to bat and bowl the same way in every game I think. Sometimes it will work, like the NZ games, somedays it won't, such as today. Not sustainable in my opinion.
