This is my mate's fault. Knowing the effect I have on sport, I hadn't been following the score apart from first thing in the morning. He messaged me that it was going well, so I had a quick look at the score on the bbc and next ball Root was out .... and then the collapse.

Bowling last will be important for Pakistan, but I think only because it means they don't have to bat last. I think England would make more of the pitch, and mentally are a lot stronger than the Pakistanis who will implode again I'm sure. I'm still of a mind England will win this test.

Think England would have been better served just going for it once the pitch turned, no point trying to survive on that. Pakistan have served up a win the toss win the game pitch with this reuse and it's a gamble that has paid off.
