It's got to be the semi final defeat at Wembley. We're a goal up with less than half an hour left against a bang average Liverpool team with a 3rd choice goalie in nets and we still managed to shoot ourselves in the foot.

Distin was a very good player for us but when I think of him that horrendous back-pass is what I instantly think of.

To be honest,Gueye being picked for that game was ridiculous, for sixty two minutes I watched that timid frightened display by the French lad, how did Moyes leave him on so long, everyone in the ground could see how poor and over awed he was, except the new second time round manager of WHU. I’m convinced if he hadn’t been still on the field Dustin would have played the ball up the wing, he saw Gueye up there and changed his mind and made that horrible pass back, that was the only way Liverpool were going to score that day. Every minute that Gueye was on the field was giving, a wretched Liverpool team confidence, what another cock up that was by Moyes. God help those poor West Ham fans.

I haven't and I've been about 17 Anfield derbies, there and Stamford Bridge are the only grounds we play regular where I've never seen us win.

No,Drenthe had messed things up quite a bit, turning up late for training etc, and on the Thursday before the semi final he turned up late again, Moyes lost his rag and banned him from the squad for the semi final, that’s how Gueye came to play the game, literally ten men in a semi final.We never put Liverpool or their very poor goalkeeper, Jones, under any real pressure especially in the second half. Ironically, seven days later we played a much better team on their own ground, Man. Unt. and scored four in a 4-4 draw, this without the influential Leighton Baines, because we had a go and attacked United, seven days too late. Moyes, was I glad when you finally went to United, then Spain, then Sunderland and proved how good!!! you were, even WHU and their fans didn’t want you, and you kept them up!!!

Every derby defeat hurts, but that semi final loss at Wembley was the worst by far. Felt physically sick when they got that late winner.......yet again.
