He's sounding reasonably good under the circumstances. Things will come together but like Woody says, he and his wife have a lot of hard work ahead of them. His wife is a battler by the sound of it, and so is Roy.

He's missed on this board, though. Be glad when things really take a turn for the better come the spring.

Thanks for the kind words they are appreciated, what happened was the wife was in agony and we went to the royal hospital where she was placed in a ward near the operating theatres ,then they tried to boost her up before the operation but she took a turn for the worse so early next morning the surgeon said that her chances of surviving surgery were poor at best but if he did not operate right away he was sure she would die.so given the facts we agreed she was on the table for 6 and a half hours and had over two thirds of her main bowel her colon and other infected things removed.we where also told her heart stopped and they had to revive her,for the next few days it was touch and go and coming home to an empty home was awful but I pmed a few lads on her and WE are grateful for their support, when times in your life are so bleak these sort of things help and we will never forget.any how after a week in intensive care her stoma had not grafted on and she needed another operation we did not get a chance to see her before the operation as they felt it had to be done then once again she died on the table and was brought back.happily she is now in the high dependency although she has noe use of her left leg they said there is a good chance it will come back when all the infection clears but although there is an operation that might work they feel it is not worth the risk and I for one will not argue. So that is basically where we are they say its going to be 6 months of gradual improvement but to remember she is a very sick lady.once again thanks for the kind words and thoughts.

You know my feelings, Roy. But once again, all power to the family. You're a strong unit and will come out of this in the spring. Keep strong, mate. (y)

"Hope" is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest sea,
Yet never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Out of darkness comes light, out of weekness comes strenght. Hold on to these virtues and you should be alright.

Roy Me,Amanda an Amelia, all are thoughts are with you and your Wife. We cross everything we have to make sure she's going to be fine. It's going to be a long hard road. But one that will be well worth it.

Just remember theirs a lot of us on here who are only a finger tip away. An i live 2 mins from you mate. If it's ever a pint you need, let ,me know.

Nice to see you guys giving him so much support. He's a top man and going through a nightmare right now. He'll be touched by you kindness. Round of applause to you all.
