Buying into the racist-scapegoating idea that immigrants, brown-skinned people, woke teenagers, etc., are the reason for your less-than-satisfying life outcome is one of the oldest grooming operations in history; see for example, Hitler--someone whom I'm sure, in your opinion, had some really good ideas mixed in with the bad ones.

Just had a nose at the Euromomo all cause mortality graphs. It looks like death rates are in what would be considered a normal range.

I did see a post in the Tory leader thread indicating that deaths linked to a positive test were up.

I guess we'll see if the excess death data reflects that as it is adjusted on the next week or so. It may be that covid is present and a contributing factor to those at death's door already. Or they've acquired it in hospital whilst in a bad way. Causation and correlation etc.

My personal suspicion is that the battle is against morbidity rather than mortality now. Acute and chronic illness or even longer term mortality linked to long term illness from covid. We're seeing the acute effects in staff absences, people getting ill, pressures on the NHS. Which is bad, but it's the stuff yet to be measured that is a considerable worry I feel.
