Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

I'm actually quite glad we have Johnson after what's been going on in Czech this week. The new health minister decided it'd be a good idea to have a track and trace system this week (presumably one would be magicked out of thin air), but the government backed down after opposition MPs argued about the abuse of personal data, with one (lady) arguing that people might be having an affair at the pub, and their spouse could find out. I mean you can't really do anything but laugh, but this is quite serious

*deletes NHS Covid App......

Think they've lost the plot mate. Yesterday the health minister said the high hospitalisation rate was nothing to worry about because many of those in hospital were actually asymptomatic people who were put in hospital to avoid any spread in their normal care facility. I mean hospitals are massively expensive human parking spaces for one thing, and they're also terrible for spreading infections. I don't know whether he's lying or has completely lost it.

Should we send them @davek to sort it out, or hasn’t it reached Defcon 1 levels yet ?

We have had one or two selfish people in the pub this week, not wearing masks when entering and then claiming to be exempt and kicking up a fuss. Disappointing tbh. We even give free masks out so that staff and customers are better protected and nervous customers feel more secure because they can see everything we have done to make the environment safe. But of course the ‘exempted’ ones insisted upon their legal rights to enter the building without a single thought about anyone but themselves. We then exerted our Legal right to refuse service and to ban them from ever coming back into the place...the word will quickly get out, no mask, no service, not welcome.....

Well done Pete.

Nice one, ban them.

Was with my dad 11 days ago who just tested positive. I've developed a cough in the last few days and feel well and expected to have it but test was negative at least i can cough in peace at work next week. I've been worried I didnt do the swap correctly as we do it ourselves but that would be inconclusive.

So Sturgeon has thrown her own MP under the Bus, withdrawn the whip and tells everyone that she must resign. Has anyone actually heard her, or indeed any other politician, ask how the woman is or given any actual support to her...or is this only about how it makes the SNP look....

Not really sure she had much choice really.

And she deffo wished her well at the end of her statement.

Thrown under the bus?

The woman behaved in a disgraceful manner and put God knows how many members of the public at risk with her absolutely scandalous behaviour. By all accounts, she even lied to the SNP about why she was heading home.

She's a disgrace and deserves putting in the stocks in the middle of her constituency IMO.

Hope the woman gets a massive fine and preferably a bit of bird for something like reckless endangerment.

I expect she will, and you are of course right.....
