What I dont get is what happens if you have symptoms of a cold but no cough/fever/loss of smell - are you meant to still get tested / isolate?

Gonna be pandemonium over winter when every man and his dog has a runny nose and cough

Think they say 2-3 of persistent cough, high temp and loss of taste/smell before you get a test. You can use the app too to tell you.

Why not, you've made that statement because of preconceived notions of the places without any idea about what the places and the people were like.
Wrong. There's nothing preconceived about my statement. I had relatives all over that place. Longview, Hillside, Page Moss. Visited it many times, and I know what a livley place those places were. Went in the Bluebell a few times. If you think drinkers in a place like the Eagle would be standing to attention for social distancing you're kidding yourself. Did you actually ever enter one of those ale houses?

Born, lived and will probably die in Page moss ,played football for both pubs and had family who drank in the Eagle as did i on the odd occasion, and I am in no way trying to make out that they were paragons of virtue they certainly weren't that, but one thing they did look out for was each other and if they had to they would've done what they had to to save guard their family and friends. Having family from the area you should know this. By the way I'm not as confident that this would apply today.

You dont have to educate me about Huyton mate, I know it well and the people there. I think you took what I said initially as disrespect. I hope you see that was wide of the mark now.

Not trying to educate you at all , just don't agree with your assumption that the people would not give a toss about other people.

Of course they give a toss about each other. Not complying wouldn't be seen in that sense though. It'd be seen as not caring about rules. The young especially will view it that way. Yes there are people who can see the bigger picture at that (prime drinking) age, but the majority cant. It's like trying to plait sawdust requesting that they do the right thing in those conditions. That's what I consistently say on here: take the decision out of their hands.
