I must say, having looked at the BBC overview, I can't understand what the fuss is about. We can still do practically everything.

Think its mainly the row back from fans at matches, after all the work clubs in all sort of sports have done, when the risk, is pretty much non existent. Compared to being on a bus or a plane or in a supermarket.
 
what happens though if there will never be a (succesful) vaccine of any sorts? I can see govts around the world saying feck it then, come March 2021, if there is still nada. Everyone will be told 'mind your own business and protect yourself, law-makers won't be intervening in social life'
the virus will be evolved anyway.
 
I see Johnson’s new measures are based on “....acting on the principle that a stitch in time saves nine".

In other Tory policy news, the rule of six was based on on the principle of ‘too many cooks spoiling the broth’, regular hand washing will prevent ‘the devil making work for idle hands’, and pubs are safe to remain open as ‘lightning never strikes twice in the same place’.
