Doesn't the rules say, that if you need child care then you contact the Local authority hub as Jenny Harries showed the other day. Highly irresponsible to drive 200 odd miles with a sick person and with your child in the car, leaving London at 8.00 pmish. Amazing that he has the brass neck to say he couldn't get child care. He's playing around with dates and days. The Bernard Castle 'drive' is the most bizarre thing going. He put lives at risk driving there. Why drive there as there are enough back lanes in the countryside for a 'test' drive on 'day 15'.

He’s made it up. Safeguarding issues for vulnerable kids if both parents were incapable of caring for them, would be dealt with at that point in time.
What he’s trying to say is that he preempted that possibility and did what he liked, the guidelines were clear. You and your family stay at home. That’s literally it.

At what stage does 'having a child' constitute exceptional circumstances...I can understand why looking after your children may have been considered exceptional by the PM but the general public?
