I'm leaving on thursday for Copenhagen, i'll be studying there until december. Its my first trip to europe, i'm excited as hell.

do any danish blues or anyone who's visited copenhagen a lot have any advice? I've heard the city is amazing, i'd love to know about some must-see spots. Also how easy is it to get too and from england? i would really love to see goodison but if its tough to get to liverpool from there I might just have to settle for an away game.

Its still a trek , but not from where you're coming from . 400/500 miles , I'd venture - never having measured it .

alright mate. Went to Copenhagen a few months back.

Nyhavn is a little area with bars / restaurants etc, pretty cool, check out the wiki page below.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyhavn

they also do boat / canal tours which are pretty cool. All have covered boats with heaters if its cold which was quality for me as it was freezing. So check out the forecast as you might need a big coat.

Also went up 'the round tower' which I thought was ace, with great panoramic views of the city...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Round_Tower

The city centre is also all pedestrianised which is cool. You can walk thru the city centre in about 20mins so not a massive city to navigate with red brick pavements guiding you thru. lot's of roasted chestnuts on sale as well....which smell amazing...

I went to watch FC Copenhagen v Aarhus, at the "Parken Stadium".. great game and massive stadium... cheap ticket (about £12) as well if i remember correctly.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parken

Copenhagen is expensive though for pretty much everything else, as is most of Scandanavia.

Restaurants can be quite pricey, and you're looking at £6 a pint of beer. ($9-10 depending on the exchange rate) in most pubs/bars.
McDonalds is reasonably priced though...(shocker...)

The danish people are also very helpful and pleasant and also English is quite widely spoken, so you won't get stuck.

There is also a few American / English pubs, and a small 'expat' community so you won't feel too far from home, as with many European cities.

Hope this helps but I'd defo check the Wikipedia page as everything on there is pretty much spot on and verified.

peace!!!!

Muggins pretty much says it. Im danish and live in copenhagen. Everything is wonderful but you have to be a bit smart when you buy things. It's really expensive here. Our girls is probably the best in the world:D So if you looking after a chick there will difently be some fight about her:-)

If you wanna go out and drink, write to me!:D

thanks a lot for the info guys, really helps! i'll keep a lookout for your girl l.c.a.b, i can't wait to see if the women are as spectacular as i've heard. not too excited about paying 6 pounds for a beer though.

for muggins and calypso, I do want to support a local football team while i'm there, any advice on that?

Don't support FC Copenhagen! Yes they are the best at the moment, but Brondby IF have the best fans! They are almost local, a bit outside Copenhagen.

This is the Fc Copenhagen official site,

http://www.fck.dk/english/tickets/

a bit down the page is a link to buy the tickets.

www.billetlugen.dk

they posted the tickets to my house in England within about 7 days, but the game we went to wasn't a sellout so you could well of turned up and paid on the door.

There is busses to the ground from the central station. But theres loads of lovely Danes who will point you in the right direction if you ask for the stadium. A little google earth map would probly help as well.

google the Danish footy fixtures for when your over there.

Also, You can fly from Copenhagen to Liverpool John Lennon with KLM i think. Probly cost about £50-£70 return, but need to check.

Get a ticket for goodison off the OS. voila!!

whats the best way of getting Brondby tickets??? coz me and me arl fella are looking to go back.

FC Copenhagen was just easiest at that moment in time. I fancy Brondby, that would be ace..

It's not worth watching a "****" game as we call FCK in Denmark. Yea ticket prize is actually not that bad, and if you would like to watch FC **** Copenhagen then the stadium would be easy to find. Ask after the hospital and it's right near it.

I use to buy my at the game day or billetlugen.dk

Unfortunately there hasn't been sold out in a longtime, but at the same time it should make it easier to get tickets. .
Miss those days where Michael Laudrup was manager and Daniel Agger and Elmander was on our team:(

awesome, i think i'm pretty much sold on brondby then. i was a little turned off by the carlsberg sponsor for copenhagen anyways ;)

the campus for the institute i'm studying in is in copenhagen proper, but i'll be living in roskilde, don't know if that means anything to you guys but from reading about it it looks sound.
