Let them leave at the end of their contracts then. We shouldn't be bullied into giving out extortionate wages. Plenty of hungry players who would take less than £90k a week.

Plenty of hungry enough players who won't be good enough for us.

We will simply have to pay the going rate for wages or we will lose our best players.

I'm sure that a good cut of the kitty put forward for spending on transfers will in fact be put aside for their wages as well as the fee.

Not got a problem with paying large transfer fee's because its investment in an asset, but paying average players over £100k a week shouldn't become the standard. The players and agents hold all the cards and are profiting from this new TV deal more than the fans.

Didn't mean average players Prince, either the one's I want us to buy or the one's we're trying to keep, if Lukaku, Stones or Ross were average the big clubs wouldn't be chasing them.

Barkley going nowhere, just looks like he's really happy here.

Stones, quality player, just think when Chelsea came in for him he actually started to think he was too good for us. Really hope we can keep hold of him as I love watching him play. If another big bid comes in though, I think he'll want out.

The Lukaku one is interesting, obviously he wants to play champions league footy, but a lot of those top, top teams already have boss strikers, and would Lukaku be going to one of these clubs as their first choice striker? Would hate to see him going somewhere and mostly warming the bench, saying that though, I reckon we'll get another season out of him, and then he'll be gone, even if we qualified for the champions league.

It's finding that balance of paying enough money to attract the top players while maintaining a wage structure and ethos that benefits the club.

You look at the average wages of many of the clubs like Citeh and Chelsea; even the most average of players are receiving ridiculous wages.

Does it make them any better? Does it guarantee success? Does it induce an aura of teamwork, hard work and effort in the squad? I'd say not.

Yet, if we want to keep the likes of Romelu and Ross, while attracting other stars, we need to entice them and part of that is suitable wages.

I would have no concern with offering Rom £100k a week to stay (maybe even more), but it must be the exception and not the rule.
