Confirmed Signing Conor Coady

Funny feeling this one has got legs. Fits the profile of signings whose value makes them attainable because their contracts are running down and/or they’re surplus to requirements, and it’s in a position where Lampard must absolutely detest every incumbent player by now.

My concern with it is that he’s well/only suited to playing in a 3 which would kind of cement that as our system, for all Frank’s talk of flexibility.

Massive kopite but can we afford to apply this as a reason to not sign him? Not sure but would improve us at the back.

Overloaded at the back. Can’t see the point unless someone is going out
Are we though? Mina is never fit, Godfrey is plop and can't be trusted there, I wouldn't say we're overloaded at the back at all, if anything we need more protection

Of course, we desperately need a striker, but if we're back three, we still look suspect there.

If we're playing a back three, we probably do need another in.

Tarkowski
Keane
Godfrey
Holgate
Mina

Not convinced Holgate is good enough/linked with a move away.
Mina - may as well ignore him with his fitness. We also need a settled defence, and he's counting down in his final year for a move.

So for me, we have 3 centre halfs at the club in Tarkowski, Keane and Godfrey

A loan for Conor Coady would be ideal - he'd start for us.
