Cos ive seen NOTHING to suggest Martinez can spot a player.

I don't think he's the best there. But lets be honest he's shopping in the bargain basement bar the odd 5-6m here and there. It can't be easy getting the players you want to go to Wigan, especially since Whelan put the brakes on them paying decent money. He's no better or worse than most of the managers in the PL on that score.

Where does the idea that Wigan play good football come from?

A couple of games at the end of the season when they are desperate for a win to stay up and start playing ultra attacking football?

What about the previous 35 games of the season where they score hardly any goals and concede loads.

I'm not saying Martinez is a terrible manager, or wouldn't do OK with us, but he is nowhere near Moyes league in terms of knowing how to set up a side to win football matches.

Except they have never been among the bottom three clubs in the Pl in terms of cost of squad, gross transfer cost and wages paid. Never. They finish where the finances dictate they should finish, no higher.

This season for instance they have vastly more expensive and better paid players than Reading & Norwich who are ahead of them.

Bruce had them 10th, Jewell had them in a cup final. If it's a miracle that they even win a game under Martinez, those two guys must be geniuses.
